Forest Light: UCSC Arboretum & UC Santa Cruz.

How it went

UCSC Arboretum is one of those gardens where everything's been considered. We worked the paths and the framed views. The place sets the stage.

From there we drove inland to UC Santa Cruz for the redwoods. The temperature dropped ten degrees, the light went green, and everyone slowed down.

A half-day, in pieces. We worked each location for thirty to forty minutes, then moved on. Different light, different backdrops, but the same loose direction throughout.

Gardens reward patience. We took the long way around and the gallery shows it.

The shoot
The whole shoot, not just the highlights

Here’s a few highlights from this shoot. Most photographers only ever show a static portfolio of their very best images. I think every potential client should see more than that: the full shoots themselves. Nothing sets expectations like seeing multiple sessions at one location in different weather, times of day, and seasons. We get amazing photos no matter what, and we’re not afraid to show you.
