GoodEye · The Difference

The GoodEye difference.

Most photographers take photos. We help you pull off the proposal you couldn't confidently plan on your own.

1,000+ proposals planned
20 years in business
275+ five-star reviews
50+ curated locations
140+ proposals a year
Why people actually hire us

Most of our clients are solving one of three problems.

01

They don't know where to propose.

02

They don't know how to pull it off without ruining the surprise.

03

They don't know who to trust from 2,000 miles away.

That's where we come in. For most couples, the photography is only one piece of the puzzle. The real value is having someone who has already helped thousands of people navigate the same decisions.

01 · Planning

We do the planning. Months out, not the night before.

Most of our clients live somewhere else when they book. They've never met us in person. We've built our entire process around making that distance irrelevant.

Most photographers
GoodEye
First contact
Email back and forth. A phone call if you push for it.
First contact
Free 10-minute call before you commit. We make sure it's actually a fit before either side signs anything.
Distance planning
Local-only quoting, or "we'll figure it out when you get here."
Distance planning
Most of our clients aren't local. They're planning from another state, sometimes another country. We do it all over text, email, and phone calls. Months out.
Location planning
Show up day-of. "So, where do you want to start?"
Location planning
Where to park, walk, get down on one knee. After a brief intro, we guide you through a fun session exploring the area together. You show up, say the right words, let us handle the rest.
The proposal plan
A photographer, not a planner.
The proposal plan
A custom operations document you'll receive before the shoot: stop-by-stop route, back-solved timing math anchored to golden hour or your dinner reservation, satellite maps with parking pins and walking paths, tactical choreography for the moment itself, and a 10-day NOAA weather window. Built from 140+ of these a year, not figured out on arrival.
Communication during the secret
Emails to your shared inbox, where your partner could see them.
Communication during the secret
Discretion at every level. Cloak-and-dagger expertise comes standard.
02 · Expertise

We've done this. A lot.

Twenty years and more than a thousand proposals means we've already seen most of what could go sideways, and we've already figured out how to handle it.

03 · Commitment

Risk-free is the easy part. We still try harder than we have to.

The money side is straightforward. The privacy and output side is where most studios quietly fall short, and where we put in the most extra work.

Planning

We remove decisions before they become stress.

By the time proposal day arrives, most of our clients already know:

Where they'll park
How long the walk takes
Exactly where to stand
What time to arrive
What happens if the weather changes
What happens if crowds show up
Where they're going afterward
Reliability

Built so a bad day for one person isn't a ruined day for you.

Many photographers operate as a one-person business. That works until they get sick, injured, double-booked, or have a family emergency. GoodEye operates differently.

Chris personally handles planning, logistics, communication, location recommendations, and editing. On popular dates, members of the GoodEye team may photograph your proposal while Chris continues overseeing the experience behind the scenes.

More availabilityBetter coverage on peak datesConsistent editingBuilt-in redundancyNo single point of failure
Experience

Experience means fewer surprises.

After more than 1,000 proposals, we've already seen:

Traffic delaysMissed turnsDead phone batteriesFamily members arriving earlyUnexpected crowdsFog that wasn't in the forecastWeather that changed an hour before sunset

Most problems aren't unique. They're just new to you.

Privacy

Privacy is the default.

Most proposal companies showcase every proposal on social media. We take the opposite approach. Your story belongs to you.

We don't publish names.
We don't tag clients.
We don't reveal proposal details.
We don't assume permission.

If you'd like your photos kept completely private, just ask.

"When the big day came, he did a great job going with the flow of my plan (keeping it a secret from my fiancée and letting me break off to bring her family to watch the proposal), even ad-libbing to help me out."

He gave me several locations to choose from since I wasn't from the area.

He was upfront about all pricing and logistics. On the day of the shoot he was well prepared, and the shoot went off without any issue.
Mike S. · Farmington, MI
★★★★★
What really stood out was how thoughtfully he planned everything. He made sure the spot was free of crowds and blended in perfectly as a “nature photographer,” which kept the surprise completely intact.
Haran P. · Mountain View, CA
