How it went

San Francisco City Hall has the kind of architecture that does most of the work for you. We shot in the hour before sunset, when the building's shadows stretch long and the foot traffic thins out.

Direction was minimal. A few prompts, a few suggestions for where to look or what to do with hands, then we got out of the way and let it happen. The best photos came from in-between moments.

Urban engagements feel different from coastal ones. Less about the landscape, more about the two people moving through it.

The shoot
The whole shoot, not just the highlights

Here’s a few highlights from this shoot. Most photographers only ever show a static portfolio of their very best images. I think every potential client should see more than that: the full shoots themselves. Nothing sets expectations like seeing multiple sessions at one location in different weather, times of day, and seasons. We get amazing photos no matter what, and we’re not afraid to show you.
