How it went
We met at Rio Del Mar Beach an hour before sunset. The tide was right, the light was right, the beach was empty enough to feel private.
After that we drove south to Seacliff State Beach, where the cliffs give way to a bigger sky: open frame, longer focal lengths.
A half-day, in pieces. We worked each location for thirty to forty minutes, then moved on. Different light, different backdrops, but the same loose direction throughout.
The kind of late-afternoon shoot that turns into a story at the rehearsal dinner a year later.
