How it went
Cliffside light at Gray Whale Cove is the kind that makes everything look bigger. We caught the last hour of sun, with surf breaking on the rocks below and nobody else in the frame.
Most of what looks like "posing" was actually just walking, talking, and pausing when the light hit right. We work this way on every shoot — the couple barely notices the camera by the second pass.
There's something about cliffs that makes a proposal stick. The wind, the height, the silence between waves — they'll remember the texture of the day long after the photos settle into a frame on the wall.
