There's a window at Garrapata Beach between four and six in the afternoon where the cliffs catch direct light and the water turns deep teal. That's when we shot.
After that we drove south to Soberanes Trail, where the cliffs give way to a bigger sky: open frame, longer focal lengths.
From there we made our way to Bixby Bridge. The Pacific from that perspective drops your jaw the first time you see it.
Two-plus hours of slow walking, quiet direction, and a couple drives between spots. Each location added a different look to the gallery (coast, cliff, ridge, trees) without the day ever feeling rushed.
Years from now they'll point to one of these frames and remember exactly what the air smelled like that afternoon.
