There's a window at Bixby Bridge between four and six in the afternoon where the cliffs catch direct light and the water turns deep teal. That's when we shot.
Then we drove to Soberanes Trail for the cliff-edge angles: sharper light, wider horizons, the kind of shot that makes the surrounding coast look bigger.
Next stop was Garrapata Beach, where the cliffs play harder shadows. Different mood entirely from the first spot.
We took the long route. Two-plus hours including driving, the kind of shoot where every location adds another color to the gallery.
The view does most of the work. The couple does the rest. 117 photos of one quiet hour at the edge of the Pacific.
Here’s a few highlights from this shoot. Most photographers only ever show a static portfolio of their very best images. I think every potential client should see more than that: the full shoots themselves.
