There's a window at Bixby Bridge between four and six in the afternoon where the cliffs catch direct light and the water turns deep teal. That's when we shot.
Next stop was Soberanes Trail, where the cliffs play harder shadows. Different mood entirely from the first spot.
Pacing was the hard part. Each spot got its own window, the light moved with us, and the drives between gave the couple time to reset and relax before the next backdrop.
Cliff-edge sessions tend to be the ones couples come back to a year later, still surprised at how the day held. This one will too.
