We met at Sutro Baths an hour before sunset. The tide was right, the light was right, the beach was empty enough to feel private.
From there we drove down to Batteries to Bluffs Trail for the back end of the day, when the sand catches pink and the marine layer comes in to flatten everything.
Multi-location shoots are equal parts choreography and improvisation. We mapped the order in advance, but the actual frames came from being patient at each stop until the light cooperated.
