Soberanes Trail sits on cliffs that drop hundreds of feet straight into the Pacific. We worked in the last hour of sun, when the light wraps the rocks and the marine layer thins out at the horizon.
Then we drove to Garrapata Beach for the cliff-edge angles: sharper light, wider horizons, the kind of shot that makes the surrounding coast look bigger.
A half-day, in pieces. We worked each location for thirty to forty minutes, then moved on. Different light, different backdrops, but the same loose direction throughout.
