How it went
Old-growth redwoods at Henry Cowell Redwoods block out most of the sun. We shot under filtered light through the canopy, where the air smells like duff and bay laurel and you can hear nothing but creek.
A relaxed ninety minutes. We walked the perimeter, found the angles that worked, and let the light do most of the heavy lifting. The couple loosened up after the first ten frames and that's when the gallery really came together.
Under three-hundred-foot trees, even a proposal feels small. That's part of why redwood shoots work: the scale puts the moment in perspective.
