How it went
What sells Garrapata Beach is the drop. Cliff edge, open sky, a couple silhouetted against the Pacific. We worked in raking light, the kind that arrives once a day and then it's gone.
Next stop was Soberanes Trail, where the cliffs play harder shadows. Different mood entirely from the first spot.
Two-plus hours of slow walking, quiet direction, and a couple drives between spots. Each location added a different look to the gallery (coast, cliff, ridge, trees) without the day ever feeling rushed.
Years from now they'll point to one of these frames and remember exactly what the air smelled like that afternoon.
