How it went
What sells Four Mile Beach is the drop. Cliff edge, open sky, a couple silhouetted against the Pacific. We worked in raking light, the kind that arrives once a day and then it's gone.
Most of what looks like "posing" was actually just walking, talking, and pausing when the light hit right. We work this way on every shoot; the couple barely notices the camera by the second pass.
There's something about cliffs that makes a proposal stick. The wind, the height, the silence between waves. They'll remember the texture of the day long after the photos settle into a frame on the wall.
