Baker Beach stretches out for miles at low tide. We timed this for the last light, when the wet sand reflects the sky and the crowd thins out to almost nobody.
We finished at Palace of Fine Arts for the architecture: clean lines, long shadows, a contrasting look from the natural-light stops.
Two-plus hours of slow walking, quiet direction, and a couple drives between spots. Each location added a different look to the gallery (coast, cliff, ridge, trees) without the day ever feeling rushed.
Twelve months from now they'll point to one of these 70 photos and say "that's the one we put on the save-the-dates."
